Dr. Garret Guthrie

Dr. Garret Guthrie grew up in Wichita, Kansas where he first began taking an interest in dentistry. Dr. Guthrie moved to Kansas City to complete his Bachelor degree in chemistry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). He also participated in the UMKC athletics program as a member of the soccer team where he served as captain his senior year. Dr. Guthrie received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the UMKC School of Dentistry and has enjoyed being a member of the dental community ever since. Dr. Guthrie has a passion for providing dental services to the underserved. He currently provides care to patients at the Mission of Hope Clinic in Raytown and has participated as a provider in community outreach events with the Missouri Mission of Mercy. Additionally, Dr. Guthrie spends some of his weekends traveling to Missouri military bases to provide dental care to members of the armed services.


Dr. Guthrie still enjoys playing soccer and being outdoors. Most of all, he enjoys spending time with his wonderful daughter Gracyn and beautiful wife Kendall, who he is sure you will see around the office from time to time. Kendall grew up in the small community of Odessa, MO where she also developed an interest in healthcare. As a pharmacist, Kendall shares a passion for service and helping improve community health. The Guthries are excited to be a part of the Grain Valley community and hope Guthrie Family Dental is a valuable resource for you and your family.

Dani Gibson, Financial Coordinator

Dani is a big part of the team at Guthrie Family Dental! She will most likely be one of the first team members you encounter when you call or come in. She takes great pride in her hob and will make you feel like part of the family. Every person is unique and Dani loves getting to hear everyone’s story. She will be your main contact for insurance and financial questions.


When she is not working hard at the office, she loves spending time with her four year old daughter, Blaire and her newborn son, Ryder! Dani grew up on Air Force bases across the country and has a very diverse background from those experiences. She now calls Grain Valley home with her husband, Cameron and their two children.


Erin Shakeshaft, Scheduling Coordinator

Erin has been with our team at Guthrie Family Dental since 2020. She grew up in Odessa and graduated from University of Central Missouri in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in child development. Erin has always been passionate about helping others which is what led her to the dental field. She started her dental experience with us as a hygiene assistant, so you might have seen her helping our hygienist during your cleaning appointment. Erin is a wonderful addition to our administrative team, she will be the first person you see when you arrive at our office. She is your go to for all scheduling and billing questions.


When she is not working, Erin enjoys going out with friends, riding horses (she was once Odessa’s rodeo princess), and enjoying nature with her big dog, Rocky!



Hannah Welty, Front Desk

Hannah graduated with her degree in Health Sciences from Mizzou in May 2021. She has a passion for helping others in her community. She will be the first person you see when you come in and always greet you with a smile! Outside of work she enjoys walking her dog, Milo and is soon to be a first time mom!






Angel Potts, Dental Hygienist

Angel joined our team in 2021. She attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry where she received a degree in Chemistry and Dental Hygiene. Prior to becoming a hygienist, she was a dental assistant and has been in the dental field since 2018. Angel loves helping her patients reach their highest level of oral health and help them maintain it. 


When not at work, Angel can be found playing cards with her family, on a bike ride with her husband and 3 dogs, or doing something crafty.




Kaylee Brockmeyer, Dental Assistant

Kaylee has been with Guthrie Family Dental since 2018! She grew up in Wellington, Missouri where she attended elementary through high school. Kaylee graduated from Concorde Career College as Dental Assistant and has been a member of our staff ever since. Growing up, Kaylee got excited every time she went to visit the dentist-so much so that she was convinced a career in dentistry would be a great fit at an early age. 


What Kaylee enjoys most about working in the dental field is having a positive impact on her patients’ confidence through improving the appearance of their smiles. Outside of work, you can usually find Kaylee spending time with her family!



Crystal Bethune, Dental Assistant

With 23 years of Dental Assisting experience, Crystal knows dentistry is her passion. 











Rhyannon Patrick, Dental Hygienist

Rhyannon is the newest member of our Guthrie Family Dental team, she has been a great addition to our hygiene team! She grew up in Odessa, Missouri where she currently lives. Rhyannon attended Dental Hygiene school at Concorde Career College - Kansas City where she received her dental hygiene degree. She has always been interested in the healthcare field and loves making people feel more confident in their smile. Rhyannon enjoys developing relationships with her patients and making everyone feel at home at our office. You can count on her to help you achieve your best smile!


When she’s not at the office, Rhyannon enjoys spending time with her family and spending time outdoors! Rhyannon has two dogs she loves to explore nature with, Polly and Lucy.



Cate Fuller, Dental Assistant

Cate will be another new face you will see at our office, she has been with Guthrie Family Dental since 2020. She grew up in Hannibal, Missouri and now lives in Lee’s Summit. She graduated from Blue Springs High school. Cate has been in the dental for a year now, and has also worked in pediatric dentistry. She first became interested in the dental field after she had her wisdom teeth extracted and felt she could provide positive experiences for patients as her doctor did for her! 


Outside of work, Cate enjoys spending time with her family, driving, and listening to music.




Ariana Cruz, Dental Assistant

Ariana was inspired to become an assistant by her grandma, who was a dental assistant while she was growing up. She has been assisting for almost a year now and has enjoyed every new opportunity and challenge that has come along with it.







Jackie Nixon, Dental Assistant

Jackie has been in dentistry for over 24 years. She says "It's not a job when it's fun to go to work." She always has a smile on her face and an attitude that will brighten your day!
